Connecting an Enom domain to your Squarespace site
If you lot purchased a domain from Enom and want to keep it registered with them, y'all tin connect it to your site by following this guide. After completing these steps, your domain will stay registered with Enom, simply information technology will connect to your Squarespace site. Footstep 1 - Start the connection in Squarespace
To connect your domain, kickoff in the Domains panel:
- In the Home bill of fare, click Settings, so click Domains.
- Click Use a Domain I Ain.
- Enter the full domain name you're connecting in the Enter Domain field, and then click the pointer.
- Click Connect Domain.
Note: If you see a bulletin that says "This domain is already connected to some other Squarespace site," check your other Squarespace sites to find where the domain is continued. And so disconnect information technology from that site.
- Select Enom from the drop-down menu, if it's not already selected.
- Click Connect Domain.
- In the message that appears, click Continue.
- A new panel will open with the records to create in your Enom account. Go on this console open for your reference.
Step 2 - Log into Enom
Get to www.enom.com and log into your business relationship.
Click Registered in the Domains section.
Click Host Records on the following page.
You'll now copy the records from the Domains console then your Enom domain correctly links to your Squarespace site.
Note: Don't delete MX records during this procedure. MX Records connect your e-mail accost, and deleting them could interfere with your e-mail service.
Stride iii - Add the first CNAME
In the first line of your Squarespace DNS Settings, copy the unique code that appears directly below the Host column. The unique lawmaking is a random string of numbers and letters that must indicate to verify.squarespace.com.

Step 4 - Add together the second CNAME
In the second line of your Squarespace DNS Settings, world wide web appears directly beneath the Host column. This record must indicate to ext-cust.squarespace.com.
On a new line, copy these records from the Domains panel:
- In the Host Name field, enter www
- From the Tape Type drib-down menu, select CNAME (Allonym).
- In the Address field, enter ext-cust.squarespace.com
Note: If you lot accept an existing CNAME with Host Proper noun world wide web, edit this CNAME then the Address is ext-cust.squarespace.com
You should now have a CNAME with world wide web pointing to ext-cust.squarespace.com.
Step five - Add A records
In the last 4 lines of your Squarespace DNS Settings, you lot'll see iv IP addresses in the Required Information column. Using the steps below, create four A records in Enom matching these values.
Detect the record with @ (none) in its Host Name field.
- Adjacent to @ (none), ensure A (Address) is selected In the Record Type drop-downwards menu.
- In the Address field, enter 198.185.159.144
Echo this process three more times using the following values:
- 198.185.159.145
- 198.49.23.144
- 198.49.23.145
You should at present have four A records pointing to the following IP addresses:
- 198.185.159.144
- 198.185.159.145
- 198.49.23.144
- 198.49.23.145
Click Save.
Note: If you take existing A records, edit whatsoever with Host Name @ so that Points To matches the values above. If you see other A records in your account that don't friction match what'due south shown in this guide:

- Host: bare - Delete. "Bare" specifies your domain without the www in front.

Step vi - Wait for the connectedness to complete

If we detect that your records weren't set up properly, your domain will appear in the Domains panel with the message Can't verify domain ownership. To troubleshoot, use the DNS checker tool in the DNS Settings panel to come across the exact CNAME and A records to set up.
